My name is Whitney Brooks, and I am an artist and educator. I hold a MAT in Art Education from Tufts University in affiliation with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and am licensed to teach art in Vermont and Massachusetts.
Right now I teach high school photography, after teaching 7th and 8th grade art in Vermont. I have also worked in a high school library and recently taught middle school general art and darkroom photography outside Boston.
Prior to graduate school, I earned a BA from Smith College, then went off to live in some of the more rural parts of this country doing outdoor and farm-based education.
I work primarily in photography and printmaking, but also love building and working in 3-D, book making, drawing, painting, installation and new media.
When I'm not making or teaching art, I am trying to be outside and moving as much as possible. I am very excited about gardening, live music, cooking with friends, and finding my way towards mountains and trees.
